Clinic Offers Child Safety Advice

A new Scott & White clinic for kids will be opening Wednesday in Belton.

Some parents were able to get an early preview of the clinic, located off Loop 121 and Highway 190. It will cater to kids up to age 17.

Scott and White physician Jessica Drigella discussed some of the common concerns for kids during the summer months.

Common concerns are sunburn, insect bites, and poison ivy. Viral infections such as hand foot and mouth have also been seen recently.

An important concern for child safety is prevention, such as wearing helmets and sunscreen and keeping an eye on children in the water.
