Ciara will make her first-ever Essence cover appearance with the May 2016 issue. In the cover story, the R&B singer talks her about her engagement to fiancee Russell Wilson, her career, God and motherhood.

Of course, CiCi didn't spill too much tea during the interview, but did offer insights about finding her man.

“I remember telling my friend the kind of guy I wanted: a God-fearing man with a very fun spirit who loves kids and would really, truly care for me," she said in the interview. "I was very specific because I do believe you can have it all.”

The 30-year-old mom also said that a breakup with Future was obviously unplanned, though her son, Future Jr., definitely was a wonderful blessing in her life.

"I’d always wanted to have my own family," she said. "And my pregnancy was planned when I was at a point in my life when I was finally ready to take on the responsibility.”

Ciara also said that she had to "reorganize" her thoughts once she realized that she would be a single mother.

"The moment I realized I was going to be a single mother, I had to reflect and reorganize my thoughts. I decided to trust that God had a plan for me, and move forward one day at a time.”

Essence's May 2016 issue, with Ciara on the cover, will arrive on newsstands on Friday (April 15).
