While a lot of the attention and focus is on the midterms in Texas, the City of Killeen is gearing up for its elections for city council and mayor.

According to a press release we received from the city's communication department, the May 5th ballot will have 12 candidates seeking Killeen City Council At-Large seats with a few incumbents defending their seats as well. Also, Killeen Mayor Jose Segarra will be seeking re-election against 4 opponents.

Killeen City Council At-Large Candidates - (I) Incumbent:

Butch Menking, Leo J. Gukeisen, Patsy Bracey, Brockley King Moore, Placidio Juan Rivera, Den'Mica Eugene, Tolly James Jr., Bruce Bynum, Juan Rivera (I), Kenny Wells, Mellisa Brown, Gregory Johnson (I).

Killeen Mayor - (I) Incumbent:

Jose Segarra (I), Arturo Cortez, Holly Teel, Jimmy Parker, Hal Butchart.

Early voting for the May 5 ballot opens on April 23 to March 1.
