Buses carrying evacuees from Brazoria County began arriving at the Bell County Expo Center early Monday morning.

The first question on the minds of many has been "where and what can I donate?". KWTX reports that the Bell County Sheriff's Department is asking that people wait until agencies determine what is needed and where those donations can be dropped off.

Once officials determine what is needed and where, we will relay that information online and on the air.

KWTX's Kathleen Serie reports that evacuees, many of whom drove themselves here, were arriving at the Bell County Expo Center to be checked in and assigned to shelters across Temple, Belton, Harker Heights, and Killeen. Many brought pets, which were being cared for by animal control officers.

Brazoria County is located just south of Houston and was hard hit by Hurricane Harvey. Despite the extensive damage there, some evacuees reported that their neighbors chose to stay behind.
