Rapper Big Boi is not afraid to step out of his comfort zone when it comes to creating unique collaborative songs. The Atlanta rhyme-slinger comes through with a funky duet called 'Lines' featuring swag rapper A$AP Rocky and electro-pop band Phantogram.

The song features live drumming, downing piano grooves and dreamy synth melodies. Hearing Sir Luscious and Pretty Flacko spitting bars doesn't quite measure up to Big Boi and Andre 3000 on a track together, but it's adequate.

A$AP Rocky kicks it off with bendy wordplays like, "And it's finna give me peace / Life up in these streets / I'm quick with the piece / Case if any n----s wanted beef / Cause man gave us laws / And God gave us time / It's the art of storytellin' and I'm only tellin' mine."

Big Boi contributes some tight lines (excuse the pun) on finding his spirituality and letting the "Word" mold him like Play-Doh. "Like the baby in the manger / I gave my life to Jesus / Because he could protect me from the dangers in the circle of angels / Just to help me shine my halo," he raps.

Singing the angelic hook is Sarah Barthel of the indie band Phantogram, which gives the song it's heavenly feel. It's a unique trifecta of funk, pop and electro under a soundbed of hip-hop.

You can hear this funky collaboration and others on Big Boi's upcoming album 'Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors.' The collection, which hits stores on Dec. 11, boasts cameos from Kid Cudi, Sleepy Brown, T.I., Kelly Rowland and Boi's all-time favorite singer, Kate Bush.
