Best Damn Thing I Ate In Central Texas: County Line BBQ
Now we all know Texas BBQ is an INSTITUTION and there are THOUSANDS of places to grab a bite of brisket or ribs in and around our great state. So when comes down to picking a place to enjoy some delicious BBQ, some places focus just on the food, others focus on just the ambiance, but when you find a place that nails BOTH, you gotta spread the news.
After my Zip lining excursion on Lake Travis (more on that in another post), I remembered this amazing place in Austin I visited once called County Line BBQ on The Lake. I've tried County Line BBQ before during a recent trip to San Antonio's Riverwalk but I had to stop in at Austin's location on Bull Creek just off Lake Austin on FM 2222 and it surely didn't disappoint.
First, look at this VIEW! The creek contains turtles that you can feed and enjoy the beautiful weather while munching on some great BBQ. I had the 5 Meat Smokehouse Combo featured above with beef ribs, sausage, peppered turkey, brisket and pork ribs. Every single bite was tender but I'm now HOOKED on their peppered turkey which was smoked to perfection! Let's just say the turkey didn't stand a chance after my first bite. The marbled brisket was amazing, and both sets of ribs were just as tender as the turkey. So stop by if you're in Austin next time you'll love it!
