The Belton Police Department published a post on their Facebook earlier this morning, urging residents who make online purchases to meet sellers (and buyers) at a Safe Internet Exchange Zone.

These zones - there is also one made public by the Temple Police Department - are provided by local police so no one is ripped off, robbed or harmed during these seemingly anonymous transactions. Because, you never really know who's on the other side of the computer screen until you meet them in person.

Internet Safe Zones are under 24-hour surveillance. The one in Belton is at the Belton PD located on 711 E 2nd Avenue.

Just for kicks, I wanted to share my favorite comment in the thread.
