Baylor University has fired a newly hired assistant coach after he was busted in a prostitution sting Saturday.

33-year-old Brandon Washington was arrested when he went to a Waco hotel expecting to meet a woman he met online and believed to be a prostitute. He was charged with solicitation.

Baylor released a statement Monday saying they fired Washington as soon as they were notified of his arrest. The statement said Washington was given a full criminal background check before being hired as an assistant strength conditioning coach by Baylor head coach Matt Rhule in 2016.

Washington's arrest came as Baylor continues to deal with the aftermath of a sexual assault scandal that resulted in the firing of coach Art Briles and then-Baylor President Ken Starr.
