Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewurst wants state-funded specialized firearms training for teachers and administrators to guard against  school shootings,Dewhurst feels the best way is to have school districts nominate who they want to carry weapons on campus and then train these persons  on how to react technically and emotionally in an active shooter situation.Dewhurst offered no other details of his plan ,other then to say the amount of state funding needed would depend on the number of school districts that participate and how  many people would want the training, school districts would not be required to participate.Dewhurst says his plan is not a mandate for more guns in schools, but it would allow school districts to seek the state's help in guarding against a mass shooter.
