It took 48 years...and TODAY there is a historic landmark for what has become known as Bloody Sunday, thanks to Secretary of the Interior  Ken Salazar.  The Edmund Pettus Bridge has been declared a historic landmark "honoring it's significance as a site of a major turning piont in the Civil Rights Movement.  More than 600 civil rights demonstrators were brutally attacked by armed authorities with billy clubs and tear gas as they traveled from Selma to Montgomery.  Read more...
