Halloween is this Saturday as you know and The City Of Killeen has a few safety tips to remember as you and your little ones prepare to snatch up the goodies this weekend and the city also offers a safe alternative as well if you don't want to hit the streets.

    The City Recommends Trick or Treating between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm.

    The city recommends trick or treating between the hours of 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm Saturday Night. Don't keep the kids out too late or before it gets too dark.

    Only approach homes with porch lights lit.

    If your household wishes to distribute candy, the city asks that you turn on your front porch lights to indicate that you welcome trick or treaters. Don't allow kids to approach un-lit homes.

    Costumes should not obstruct your child's vision, hearing or movement.

    Make sure your child's costume is also flame-resistant as well.
